ThoughtSpot vs Sigma Computing Pricing and Cost Per User for a 25 Person Team

Marcus Feld, Analytics·Oct 30, 2026·7 min read

ThoughtSpot prints two seat prices. Sigma prints none on its own site. Here is what each costs for 25 and 100 people, where the published numbers stop, and what to ask both sales teams before you sign.

ThoughtSpot publishes its seat prices and Sigma Computing does not. ThoughtSpot lists Essentials from $25 and Pro from $50 per user a month, billed annually. Sigma's website lists nothing, and the only public list price is its AWS Marketplace listing: a $150,000 Enterprise Platform for 12 months plus $2,000 for each Creator or Explorer seat.

That gap shapes how you budget. With ThoughtSpot you can build a spreadsheet before the first sales call. With Sigma you start from a benchmark and a marketplace contract, then negotiate. The sections below keep published prices, procurement benchmarks and your eventual quote separate.

How much does ThoughtSpot cost for 25 and 100 users?

For 25 users ThoughtSpot costs $7,500 a year on Essentials or $15,000 on Pro, at list. At 100 users the same math gives no Essentials option, since it stops at 50 seats, so 100 users on Pro is $60,000 a year. Those are the "starting as low as" figures, so a real quote can land higher.

Two details matter. Essentials has no natural language search, so the feature ThoughtSpot is known for starts at $50. And the move from 50 to 51 users is a step, not a slope: 50 users on Essentials is $15,000, while 51 users on Pro is $30,600, so one extra person costs $15,600.

Pro also caps Spotter AI at 25 questions per user a month. Used in full, that works out at $2.00 per AI question inside the seat price. Unlimited use is a separate add on that ThoughtSpot does not price publicly.

How much does Sigma Computing cost?

Sigma has no price on its own site, so any figure is a benchmark. Vendr reported a median of $65,080 a year across 153 purchases, with buyers paying between $17,060 and $146,240 and saving about 25% on average. The AWS Marketplace listing shows a $150,000 Enterprise Platform with 24/7 support, $2,000 for each Creator or Explorer add on and $0 for Viewers.

Those two sources disagree on scale, and both are true. Marketplace list price is a ceiling you negotiate down from, while Vendr reports what buyers actually signed. Neither says what your 25 people will cost, because Sigma's documentation now describes four license tiers (View, Act, Analyze and Build) and sends pricing questions to an account executive.

ThoughtSpot Pro, list$15,000 a year$60,000 a year
Sigma, Vendr median held constant$65,080 a year, about $217 per person monthly$65,080 a year, about $54 per person monthly

AgentSQL Scale, list$179 a month billed yearly, $2,148 a year$179 a month billed yearly, $2,148 a year

The Sigma rows hold a benchmark constant to show how it divides across headcount. They are not quotes. The AWS row is $150,000 plus 5 Creators at $2,000, with Viewers at $0, and it ignores Explorer seats and any discount. None of the rows prices implementation, warehouse compute or the analyst time that builds the models.

ThoughtSpot or Sigma, which fits your team?

Choose ThoughtSpot when many business users want to type a question and get a chart, and you want a seat price you can forecast. Choose Sigma when your analysts live in spreadsheets, your data sits in a cloud warehouse, and you value write back and input tables enough to negotiate a platform contract.

Neither tool is cheap for a small team, and both assume you have clean warehouse tables already. If those tables drift or load late, either dashboard shows wrong numbers with great confidence, so a tool that traces lineage and flags stale warehouse tables belongs in the budget alongside the BI seats.

For a wider view of the market, Sigma Computing competitors and ThoughtSpot vs Tableau cover the nearest alternatives, and Omni vs Looker pricing shows another quote-only pair.

What to ask both sales teams before signing

  • The seat count by tier or edition, extra seat prices and whether seats can be reassigned.
  • AI allowances, credit prices, overage terms and who can switch on spending.
  • Data and row limits, since ThoughtSpot Essentials stops at 25M rows and Pro at 250M.
  • Contract length, renewal uplift and how expansion changes your discount.
  • Who builds and maintains the data models, and what that costs in analyst time.

Ask both vendors to price the same 25 people and the same 100 people, so the totals compare. A smaller seat price can still lose once row limits, AI add ons or implementation are counted.

When direct answers are enough

AgentSQL connects read only to PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake and BigQuery. It runs the query and returns a chart, a table, a one line answer and the SQL. It is not a governed dashboard platform, and it does not replace the modeling and embedding reasons to buy ThoughtSpot or Sigma.

If your team mainly needs answers from those databases, AgentSQL plans start at $24 a month billed yearly and Scale covers up to 100 seats. Try it on your real questions and compare the output with what a six figure BI contract would give you.

Common questions

Is ThoughtSpot cheaper than Sigma Computing?
On published numbers, yes. ThoughtSpot lists $25 (Essentials) and $50 (Pro) per user a month billed annually, which is $7,500 to $15,000 a year for 25 users. Sigma lists no price on its website, and its AWS Marketplace listing starts at a $150,000 platform fee. The two are not quoted on the same basis, so ask for matched quotes.
Does Sigma Computing publish its pricing?
Not on its own website. Sigma's pricing URL redirected to its contact page when we checked on 17 September 2026. The only public list price is Sigma's AWS Marketplace listing: $150,000 for a 12 month Enterprise Platform with support, $2,000 for each Creator or Explorer add on, and $0 for Viewers.
How much does ThoughtSpot cost per user?
ThoughtSpot Essentials is from $25 per user a month and Pro from $50, both billed annually, read from thoughtspot.com on 12 October 2026. Essentials sells 5 to 50 users with no AI search. Pro sells up to 1,000 users. Enterprise is quoted with no published figure.
What is the median Sigma Computing contract?
Vendr reported a median of $65,080 a year across 153 purchases, with a range of $17,060 to $146,240, when we read it on 17 September 2026. Treat it as a procurement benchmark, not an offer. Your quote depends on seats, license tiers and data volume.
Do I need a BI platform to ask my database questions?
Not always. If your team mainly needs answers from PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake or BigQuery, AgentSQL runs the query and returns a chart, a table, a one line answer and the SQL, on published plans from $24 a month billed yearly. It does not replace governed dashboards or embedding.
